NAES Corporation, a leading provider of 3rd party O&M services to the Independent Power Industry, is currently recruiting for the following position:

2 Utility Operators

Location: 1 for the Chowchilla facility and 1 for the Merced facility

Located in Chowchilla, California, the Chowchilla facility is a fluid bed power plant capable of producing 12.5 megawatts of (gross) electricity.  The fuel consists of agricultural waste products available in the region along with demolition urban wood wastes.

Job Description:

Operate, start, and shut down all equipment in the areas assigned, including but not limited to, turbine-generators, boilers, pumps, fuel unloading and handling, water treating systems, and chemical equipment. Operate the fork truck, front-end loader, dozer, and other related equipment. Perform assigned tasks in the Maintenance Department. Assume responsibilities and duties of Plant Equipment Operator when directed. Direct other employees in the same or other job areas. Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping, including keeping all equipment wiped down and floors and surrounding areas clear. Perform other work as directed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least two months of qualification training for Utility Operator, or other training or experience equally acceptable to the company.
  • Be able to do reaching, heavy lifting up to 75 pounds, walking, stooping, standing and climbing, and pass hearing and eye test.
  • Be thoroughly familiar (either previously or gained in the position) with the operating characteristics of power plant and substation equipment.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the operating characteristics of power plant and substation equipment and must be able to demonstrate such knowledge by successfully completing the Company training program.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the company's electrical and mechanical tagging rules, switching rules, and operating rules.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the company's safety rules for this and related positions.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
